Hi, this post might sound weird but I am looking for good female friends or maybe even a girlfriend in Tampere. I am a 28 year old male, came here for my masters studies and graduated. I am a shy person who knows how to converse with fellow male but not very confident while talking to females. I am pretty much alone right now, I attend different activities and meet new people but very hard to make hangout plans with them as mostly are committed and cant make time for different plans.

I am a soft spoken, kind hearted and empathetic person who enjoys long walk, deep talks and sunsets. I enjoy cooking and baking and have an interest of introducing people to the food of my home country 😄. Right now I am just trying to make new female friends and potentially would like the idea if I could date someone and get to know more about them. I do not know how to put this in better words to be honest.

I am a respectful individual and would like to meet and make new friends. If anyone wants to get to know more then feel free to comment and I will reach out to them or you can DM me 😄

I’m a 36-year-old man who has lived in Finland for seven years. I have a Finnish girlfriend, yet I still feel lonely and isolated most of the time.

I’m naturally shy. Going to public places and starting conversations with strangers feels difficult. I’ve tried, but it often feels like Finnish people are also reserved with people they don’t know. The small talk that comes easily in many other cultures just doesn’t happen here in the same way. Over time this has left me feeling disconnected, even though I’m not completely alone.

I’m looking for a place online where I can talk to people, slowly build some trust, and maybe turn some of those conversations into real friendships.

If you’ve been in a similar situation (expat or local), or if you know of chat platforms, Discord servers, forums, or websites that are good for this, I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

Me ollaan perheen kanssa nyt Tampereella, oli tarkoitus mennä vetää tacoja Bad hombrelle(?) mutta sepä kerkee mennä kiinni ennen meidän ruoka-aikaa.... Eli mihin me mennään syömään? I'm an Electrical Engineering student and I'll be doing an exchange semester at Tampere University from January to May.
I'd love to know what life is like for an international student in Tampere. Are people welcoming/approachable?
Also, do you have any tips on what to do (or what not to do) in daily life and in Tampere in general?

I'm an Electrical Engineering student thinking about doing an exchange semester at Tampere University from January to May.
I'd love to hear your experiences about what the university is like, making friends, and overall student life!
Also, I have a couple of specific questions:

1. Is it realistic to land a summer internship in Finland right after the exchange semester?
2. I hold Italian citizenship (EU citizen), so work rights won't be a problem. How difficult is it for an EU student to get an engineering internship in Tampere or Finland in general?
   Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking to buy a used Toyota Auris self charging hybrid car. The seller agrees to bring it to Tampere for a test drive and possible assessment by a mechanic / inspection at a workshop.

Do you all have any recommendations on this? Are there any mechanics who offer such services? And Toyota dealers around town? I am new here so don't have much idea.

Also, are there any places where the hybrid battery could be tested?

Moikka! Intohimo taiteen tekemiseen on taas löytänyt minut ja ystävistäni inspiroituneena pohdin mahdollisuutta järjestää pieni taidenäyttely. Tiedän, että esimerkiksi Pyynikin munkkikahvilassa sellaista voi hakea, mutta googlaamalla ei ole sattunut löytymään muita paikkoja, vaikka niitä varmastikin on!
