Bart Scott on Not Being Renewed by ESPN: “It’s My Job To Make Them Regret It”

Technically, Bart wasn’t let go, ESPN said they wouldn’t renew his contract. I guess ESPN covered his radio contract. I wonder if that is the deal for all the talents and Good Karma is more of a GM.

Weekend Shows during the NFL season

This weekend has been pretty good between Jake filling in for Graca yesterday and Ty today (definitely looking forward to First Watchables in a bit). Does anyone know what the weekend broadcast schedule will be once the football season resumes?

I'm not optimistic DHR will ever hear D-Wood's review of Napoleon Dynamite

Or maybe they might since he will have a bit more free time, at least temporarily.

Howard Stern fans get more bad news amid staff layoffs: ‘Parting ways’

Copied the story below so no one has to deal with the paywall bullshit.... Channel 101 is being removed.

Howard Stern fans hoping to hear more of the “King of All Media” on SiriusXM are about to have fewer options to make that happen, according to multiple reports.

Stern recently had mass staff layoffs amid reports that he was cutting back to one live show per week, and in the aftermath of that, new reports say that SiriusXM is “parting ways” with his second channel, 101, from its lineup.

Stern currently has Howard 100 and Howard 101 on SiriusXM. The 101 channel began with shows picked by Stern such as “Bubba the Love Sponge” and sports talk hosted by Scott Ferrall. Those shows eventually moved off the channel, and the channel transitioned to playing archived Stern shows, specials and shows that supplemented the main channel.

According to reports, the recent layoffs on Stern’s staff consisted of individuals who mostly worked on Howard 101. With Stern reportedly moving to one new show per week, the Howard 100 channel will likely have to fill time with archived shows and clips, taking away the need for 101.

The news comes just weeks after the reports of the layoffs which included a longtime member of “The Howard Stern Show” announcing that he was leaving.

Rahsaan Rogers, who hosts shows on Stern’s SiriusXM channels and also works as a producer, announced that he is moving on.

“After 16 incredible years with The Howard Stern Show and the Howard Stern Channels, I’m opening a new chapter,” Rogers wrote on his LinkedIn. “Some career highlights I’m proud of: hosting The Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show, serving as solo host of Sternthology Live, hosting multiple seasons of Summer School, and producing specials built from 40+years of Stern Show archives.

“I got to interview people I grew up admiring, direct live broadcasts in real time, and mentor some seriously talented producers along the way,” he added. “Working inside the most successful franchise in talk radio taught me how great shows actually get made: preparation, instinct, and knowing what the audience wants before they do.”
