Fitment Tips

After all the time & money I've spent to achieve "perfect OEM+" fitment on this car, I figured I'd drop some of the knowledge I've picked up in case it's helpful to anyone else.

Firstly and most importantly, if you're looking to get decent fitment with this chassis, you'll likely need a subframe centering collar kit; the manufacturer tolerances allow the subframe to sit up to 6mm off center which will cause one wheel to stick out further than the other side. It's not very noticeable at stock height, but after putting on springs, spacers, and 225/40s, it was impossible for me NOT to notice.

Secondly, if you're trying to save money on parts, spare your alignment technician the headache and maybe stay away from SPC Rear Lower Control Arms; the eccentric washer is a pain to work with and Megan Racing offers less expensive arms with more adjustment range that also aren't a hassle.

Lastly, all of this was achieved without rolling or pulling the fenders. There's no rubbing at full lock and none from hitting large bumps & dips. If you're trying to replicate this, I would not take out any camber (especially in the rear).

Below is the current list of modifications to the car-

  • RS-R Super Down Springs
  • Spoon Sports Subframe Centering Collar Kit (Front and Rear)
  • Whiteline Camber Bolts (for Front)
  • Whiteline Rear Toe Arms
  • Megan Racing Rear Lower Control Arms (MR-SC-0621)
  • 25mm bolt on spacers (Front) and 20mm bolt on spacers (Rear)
  • Sized up from 215/40R18 to 225/40R18

Alignment Specs (included in final photo)-

Front:

  • Camber: -1.4
  • Toe: 1/32 in.

Rear:

  • Camber: -0.9
  • Toe: 1/32 in.

I don't know jack about suspension geometry, let alone anything technical about cars in general, but I do have a very strong opinion about what looks "good" and I'm sure there's plenty of people that feel similarly lol. Hopefully this information is useful to anyone like me.
