Help Pinto get surgery to correct his pectus excavatum
Baby Pinto has a recently discovered congenital defect that means his bones are preventing his lungs from expanding -- his case is pretty severe, and he currently only has about 50% lung capacity (x-ray shows how his sternum curves up toward his spine way more than it should). We're hoping to get him fitted with an external splint that will slowly correct the shape of his chest before 12 weeks of age, while his bones are malleable enough for a successful outcome. Without this surgery his quality of life will continue to decline, and the vets have told us his life expectancy is a few more months at best.
Please help us give Pinto a long and healthy life! Elizabeth has Pinto's full story and all the medical and financial details on the crowdfunder page we set up, and the Animal Aid organization he was adopted from is also accepting direct donations under Pinto's name. We're asking for funds for his full treatment plan -- 2026 has been brutal and Elizabeth themself has had multiple unexpected ER visits the past month, so all our emergency savings are gone. In the case that we're unable to fully fund the surgery, donations will cover his past bills and the rest will go directly to Animal Aid to help other pets in need.
