While researching the first IMAX theaters in Brazil, I came across newspaper articles reporting that the country's first IMAX, located at Bourbon Pompeia Shopping, initially projected movies on film, with digital projectors only arriving later. The same was true for IMAX Palladium, Brazil's second IMAX theater. Both opened in 2009 and feature a 1.90:1 aspect ratio.
