On May 28th, 1974, at 07:30, a body was found near Linden Avenue and Shorline Drive in Long Beach, California. The body was raped and died by strangulation, and it was proven to be a homicide.
Physical description
Female
Caucasian or Hispanic
18-28 years old
Estimated as 5’5
Listed as 118 pounds on most sources
Long hair, stated as brown in some sources and black in others
Brown eyes
T shaped scar on left hand, 1” scar on left thigh
PMI is hours before-couple days before
Mole/freckle on left upper lip
Two moles on left side of nose
More about the case
The body was found on a jetty in Alamitos Beach. The face was recognizable, and the death had recently occurred. On the body, there was a peachy matching top and bottom. Looking at the photos, and according to some sources, it’s likely that they were hospital scrubs. Also on the body was a fake fur coat, black strawberry printed bikini panties, calf-long suede boots, and an engagement ring. Near the body was a key ring with 2 keys & a broken chain.
She had very unique features, which could help her be identified. Looking at the postmortem photo, it seems more of a freckle on her left upper lip. She also had an engagement ring, which makes the case extra sad because somebody was waiting at home for her.
What strikes me most about this case was the fact that they identified the killer, but not the victim. Gary Stamp was convicted of her murder in 2013, after confessing. Stamp stated that he met her at a bar, and her name could’ve been “Anna” or “Ana”.
I could not find any exclusions, but I could have missed some.
She has been unidentified for 51 years, soon to be 52 years as I am writing this. She had someone waiting at home. She was someone’s daughter. Someone’s friend. Maybe someone’s sister.

On the 31st of July, 1988, a 12 year old boy was playing in his backyard when he found skeletal remains. Although the police could not determine the exact cause of death, they suspected it to be a homicide.
Physical description
Female
Caucasian
Age is stated as 14-23 in most sources, but on her NCMEC poster it says 15-19
Estimated height of 4’10 to 5’5, although suspected to be 5’1 to 5’2 at the time of death
Could not estimate the weight
Hair and eye colour unknown
Dental restorations
Frontal overbite
Post mortem interval (PMI) 10-30 years prior
More about the case
More specifically, her remains were in a shallow grave. The remains were skeletal, which suggested that they had been there for a while. The remains were buried head-first, 2-3 feet deep, in a hunched position. The body was likely placed in 1959-1964.
The remains were found on 130 Bay Knoll drive, in Irondequoit NY. Irondequoit is a suburb of Monroe county, and northeast of Rochester. Near the remains, 4 white buttons were found. Fingerprints are not available, but dentals are. DNA may be available and with CODIS.
What strikes me most is her dentals seem unique. She had gold foil restorations in multiple teeth, and a slight overbite in her front teeth. The dental work makes me think she would have been cared for in her life.
No evident trauma was found on the body, but due to the suspicious manner, police ruled it a likely homicide. Police also say that she was likely never reported missing.
She has 29 exclusions listed on her wiki. Her case has been ongoing for 37 years, with the 38th year anniversary coming up soon.

If I missed anything please comment. Sorry if this is bad, I’ve haven’t had the best sleep schedule. I’ve been wanting to shed more light on this case because it’s from my hometown. Also, I apologize for not being able to add photo captions, as I am on mobile.
EDIT: thank you u/blinkycosmocat for pointing out some stuff!
