Has anyone had work done by a Good, Licensed contractor or handyman recently? We need someone reputable to do a relatively small/easy job

Job is installing two safety bars in a shower.

We want someone knowledgeable and experienced , because 1)the shower was tiled years ago in large, expensive old tiles, and I don’t think we have any replacements. 2) there could be plumbing pipes behind the wall 3) our home’s AC unit is on the other side of the wall and there could be intakes or other apparatus for the AC in the wall that we don’t want damaged.

It won’t be the biggest job in the world, but I’m big on giving repeat business to people who do a good job, so I’d love to have the person who does this job be our go-to for all our home improvement and/or repairs going forward, if they do a great job. (I used to have a guy, but it’s been years and I can’t find him anywhere.)

Gifting a car to child post-divorce… AITA for not letting her take the car that I bought, for use when she’s at his house?

**EDIT** Forgot to mention that Kid totaled my daily driver 4 months ago.***

2.5 years post divorce. High conflict ex. 50-50 custody. Kid will be 18 in 11 months.

Car purchased by me after divorce, and child is on my auto insurance. I pay for gas. No $$$ help from the ex. (He refused when I asked him if he’d like to go halvesies on a car for her.)

I live in the center of town, & everything in my kids life (school, friends, extracurricular activity, social life) is centered in our area. Ex lives on the outskirts of town and she has no connections or activities out there. Basically when she’s with him during the summer he goes to work, and she literally lies in bed all day because there’s nothing for her to do and nowhere to go.

If I were to let her take the car when she’s at his place, she’d be driving it a lot more because she’d always be driving into town. I.e., Lots more chances for tickets or accidents.

  1. AITA for not wanting to let her take the car over there?

  2. What have you guys done in this situation?
