People are already changing their opinions on Eddington

I like to read aleatory reviews on Letterboxd. I’m often monitoring Eddington’s reviews, and guess what, if you scroll a bit you can find reviews like those of this post. Some others claiming that they are not sure about Eddington being a complete trash or a masterpiece. It’s too early to say, perhaps, but maybe that revisionism about the movie that is often mentioned here is already starting to unfold. We’ll see

This Silent Hill Townfall theory regained my interest in the game

So here me out on this one. Don’t know if this is old news by now, but anyway. I was watching YouTube during dinner tonight and stumbled upon a video from a guy I happen to like very much, his name is Robbie o coelho (Robbie the rabbit). It was a one hour long reaction to the newest SH Townfall trailer. I must confess I kinda of lost interest in this game after the trailers came out, not because I thought it looked bad or anything, but mostly because it just didn’t seem remarkable or great in any particular matter. Not gonna lie, the fact that the story doesn’t take place in Silent Hill didn’t help also. That being said, now back to what I was saying, I stumbled upon this video today, and oh boy, am I hyped for this game now. Well, I will summarize what Robbie theorized the best as I can. Just follow.

So basically, according to this theory, a company tried to recreate the otherworld, not through magic, but scientific ways this time. Everything we see in the trailer is the consequences of the experiment gone wrong. The fact that this otherworld could be synthetic generated adds to the fact that it looks almost cyberpunk, with red lights and some technological apparatus displayed. It instantly reminded me of The Mist, a novella posteriorly adapted into a movie that tells the story of a militar experiment gone wrong, bringing an otherworldly mist and deadly creatures to our plane of existence. What a coincidence, huh. By the way, the Townfall in the title may very well be in reference to the name of the project this company is conducting. Townfall Project sounds like a good name for an obscure scientific operation.

About the monsters, they could be other test subjects, trapped inside the experiment. In one of the scenes of the trailer, we can see some numbered cells. Our character is another test subject, possibly one of the people deeply involved in Townfall Project, this being the main reason why he feels guilty. That woman that seems to be guiding him is the projection of an external person trying to help him out (or not, we’ll see). Every being trapped inside the otherworld are projections of real, external people, possibly the test subjects of the project. The main character may have accepted to serve as a guinea pig for the project, or maybe he’s trying to help the people out of otherworld (in this theory, he is responsible for the project, remember?).

So we may have a sci fi silent hill in our hands, folks. Way better than a Silent Hill 2 copy paste if you ask me. Let me hear your theories or if you have heard this one before.
