Really enjoying the game overall, but a minor point of critique on the Abyss.
The idea of "risking it all" in the abyss is cool in concept, but after playing for a while now I feel that it has unintended gameplay affects.
There is a pretty substantial time period after the campaign but before you are 50 wrangler level that you want to finish all the ship progression and begin moving toward Max late game voidlings. During this time you want to be doing the abyss to begin unlocking catalysts but there is a catch! You are usually using a weaker voiding that has a very real chance of dying even in the first 10 stages and therefore risking it in the abyss is just usually not worth your time. (please note i am playing on the hardest difficulty and you will get one shot if the wrong elite spawns even in early abyss levels).
I found that this simply made me not play anything outside of abyss level 1 for quick breeding till i had wrangler 50 and a seriously powerful voidling because it was just more efficient to do so.
The player should be encouraged to see if they can go deeper and deeper without threat of their time being 100% wasted. I could see versions of the abyss that every 10 levels your rewards are locked in so at least you don't lose everything, but until you are done with progression (making death in the abyss meaningless anyways) there is just 0 reason to risk it all.
TL:DR - death in the abyss isn't scary later in the game cause you don't worry about losing resources at that point, and is too punishing early at the very time you actually need those resources. Losing everything only serves to make the early late game feel far worse from a grind perspective.
