01EDC Gene Capsule - Fancy Pants!

Just arrived: the 01EDC Gene Capsule looks much fancier in person than I expected from the photos.

The blue and rose gold accents are polished and reflective, which really pop against the more muted sandblasted gray titanium. It’s one of the more unique sliders in my collection for a few reasons.

It’s multifunctional: slider, magnetic spinner, and what appears to be a button function on the back. The spinner doesn’t spin freely very easily since the magnets seem quite strong, but it creates a reverb I actually enjoy. I believe it can be modded to spin more freely, though I don’t know that for certain.

The most interesting part, and potentially a turnoff for some, is that it only slides up in one direction. That means it can’t be held the same way in both hands while sliding in the same direction. Personally, I think that adds variety, but I can see it bothering people who prefer symmetric play.

Overall, it feels nice, solid mid-size fidget. I included other fidgets for size comparison.

I was that guy… 😅

Anyone else making strategic financial mistakes they’ll maybe never recover from this weekend?

Arrived this weekend. Never had a Choc before picking up this one and the titanium version. Smaller than I expected, but both feel really nice in hand even without sliding them. Only real disappointment was realizing the ZircuTi is only on the front face plate and not both sides.

First fidget sword - Wanwu Taia

The colorful shell embed looks absolutely stunning. The pearlescent details on the sword really make it stand out compared to the standard versions. I’m a little disappointed mine has a hot pink spot interrupting an otherwise perfect gradient (visible near the top edge in the first photo), but honestly, that’s the only flaw I’ve noticed so far.

As a fidget, the sword slides smoothly but the further out the sword is, the more wobbly it gets. It’s also possible to pop the sword completely out with one hand, so I wouldn’t use this thing outside or near rough surfaces unless you want to risk dropping it. Definitely got this more for its aesthetics.

The scabbard is also the tuning fork. You can hear a dull ring when un/sheathing depending on how you hold it.

I’m looking forward to finding more swords with intricate details like this and adding to my recent collection.

Utopia build timelapse

Proxy Utopia Kit assembly timelapse. Assembly was intimidating at first since there aren’t really instructions, but after watching a few videos it wasn’t too bad. First build took me a while, but now I could probably assemble it in under 20 minutes.

I got this buttock off aliexpress for the breaker, but it didn’t come with a screw or faster. Any idea where to get a suitable one? Also… kinda regret not going with the carbon fiber because this wasn’t real wood. Overpriced plastic 😢

Hello! I’m completely new to the world of fidgets and kind of went all in. I just picked up my first high end piece, a Time Knight 3.0 Pro, and noticed something about the serial numbering that I’m curious about.

As seen in the picture, mine is marked No. 00X8, both on the unit and the plate. I’ve seen other Pro units that don’t have an “X” in the number, though those were the black and gold versions.

Does anyone know what the “X” indicates?

- different batch or revision?

- placeholder or corrected numbering?

- pre-production or alternate run?

Curious if anyone else has a similar marking or any insight into how these are numbered.

Also, slightly separate issue, but I’m wondering if others have seen this. The spinning ratchet starts feeling stiff after less than a minute of spinning and eventually gets stuck. The only way I’ve been able to fix it is to unscrew and reset it.

Sometimes the bearings have fallen off the spring, other times everything looks normal, so I’m not exactly sure what’s causing it. There are only 2 springs and bearings installed, even though there’s a third empty hole.

Has anyone else run into this?
