Controller board is occasionally working plus a bunch of other controller stuff.

I got a 2nd hand controller board on market place as a bonus to a backglass upgrade purchase.

The previous owner said it has very little use but when he did the most recent update it stoped working. I gave it a try in my machine and it worked. The next time i turned it on, it stoped working. Since then it’s been rarely working.

I replaced the original d pad controller which has its own issues. D pad sticks a little.

Has anyone built their own controller board and used it for the pinball? Not sure how the ALP will integrate if i made my own setup by drilling out and adding buttons the original board and using a USB encoder.

Thought?

Update: i have a DIY controller board laying around from another project i was working on. I connected it to the USB on the ALP and it did nothing.
I also tried to connect a joy stick to the 5 pin d pad connector. It worked in 2 of 4 directions. Anyone else have luck with type of thing?

Button setup for steam. Plus more

Does anyone know or have a good resource on how to setup the ALP to work with steam? I got the flippers to work but am struggling with nudge and plunger.

When i try to set the controls steam detects legends HID controller. I walk through the setup of assigning buttons but it never turns out the way i need it to.

Update: I figured it out. When i was mapping the controls one of the buttons was stuck. This caused the mapping issue.
FYI: the nudge left and right are the trigger buttons and the plunger is rt thumb down.

Coast(ish) fire

Hi all,

I’m 44, married with 2 kids. I have 1 mil in retirement (800 IRA, 200 401k). Another 300 in a stock account. I was contributing 1k every 2 week to retirement and 1k monthly to stock account. I stoped the retirement contributions. An extra 26k to spend has been nice for sure.

I’m staying in my job because it’s very manageable and i have 2 young kids that have me worried about college and other expenses.

I’m hesitant to take a lower paying job because stress is good and i worry not keeping busy is going to create a decline for me physically and mentally.

Anyone else in this situation? How’s it going?

Legends pinball cabinet and legends ultimate arcade

Hi all. I have the HD pinball and a legends arcade. Is it possible to run everything off of the pinball machine and get rid of the arcade machine? I’m using legends unchained project on the arcade.

Just picked up an HD model that has a small computer “steam deck”

It’s running fax and fx3. I’d like to load tons of games on it. Is there a tutorial to pull something off like the legends unchained project?

Getting closer or i might be there

M43 and wife 37F 2 kids 5&9. We both work full time. We have about 1.3 mil invested 900 in retirement and the rest in stock account. Wife’s a teacher and will have a pension.

I finally stoped investing above the employer match. It has freed up 2 k a month for us. Also our youngest leaves day care after the summer. Frees up another 1,300 a month.

Thinking about lower paying and stress job but i like what i do. I think we are going to keep working and enjoy the extra money.

I have a raspberry pie running retropie. I m able to pair the p1 side if the deck in the retropie settings menus but when i try to configure inputs it does not detect the controller. I also can’t get the p2 side to connect at all.

What I’m doing: i hold p2 button on the legends ultimate deck and the blue light on the power button pad start to flash. Then i open blue tooth setting and select pair. It searches and finds “control deck p1”. I select it an am able to use the joy stick to toggle in the retropie menu. But when i try to configure it doesn’t detect the controller deck.

Any help?
