What to put on the side of a cinderblock foundation that’s not grass?

I have this bare area next to my house that I’ve added subtle grading to. What could I plant (or place) on it that’s not grass? I’ve heard mulch isn’t good to have next to a foundation. So I’m thinking stone or some type of groundcover? My main priority is keeping rainwater and moisture away from the foundation.

I’m a first time homeowner so I very much appreciate any and all insight!

Stewart Beal lamenting about hot water usage

I just saw a post on a public Facebook group from Stewart Beal bragging about arguing with a tenant that a single guy shouldn’t need more than 4 mins of hot water.

That is heinous on so many levels!! I only moved to Ypsi a couple of years ago. What’s the deal with this guy?
