I've recently started getting back into Detective Conan after not really watching it since I was around 7 or 8 years old, so I'm basically experiencing a lot of the series for the first time.

One thing I've noticed since Ai Haibara was introduced is that there have been several episodes where it feels strange that she isn't present. Episode 164 especially stood out to me. It was a Detective Boys/Junior Detective League episode featuring Professor Agasa, and unless I'm forgetting something, Ai was already living with Agasa by that point.

So where was she supposed to be during that episode? Was there an in-universe explanation that I missed, or is this just one of those cases where the anime hadn't fully settled her into the regular cast yet?

I'm still pretty new to Conan, so maybe there's something obvious I'm overlooking, but it struck me as odd considering how closely connected she is to both Agasa and the Detective Boys.
