I honestly had a bit of a culture shock yesterday.

I've been debating since yesterday whether I should even post this lol. I've been following DetCo for over 10 years now, but I'm not really active in the fandom, especially on twitter. I barely use social media these days. I occasionally read discussions, and that's about it. Even when I do open twitter, it's usually for completely different interests, so I genuinely have no idea what the fandom over there is like.

Yesterday I came across a post of this manga panel (this is my first post so idk how to put an image in this section but I hope you know what panel I'm talking about). The caption was in arabic, but twitter translated it automatically and it was just talking about how beautiful the panel was. I was like, "aw, that's nice." Then I refreshed my timeline and suddenly it was just post after post about the latest chapter leaks. They were all in arabic, so I was relying on twitter's automatic translations. I know they're not always accurate, but you could still tell what people were trying to say.

And ngl... I was genuinely sitting there like, "am I reading this right??"

Like yeah, I expected some people to disagree with the chapter. I expected criticism. That's normal. But I was not expecting to see people throwing that much hate at haibara. People were mocking her suicidal thoughts, calling her an ungrateful suicidal b*tch, saying she should just k*ll herself already... and I was literally just sitting there staring at my phone like ??? 😭 I actually had to stop scrolling because I was genuinely so dumbfounded.

Idk maybe it's just me, but I've always treated fiction as...well..fiction. Don't get me wrong I've also cried over books before, got frustrated with the characters characters, and all that. But at the end of the day, I always remind myself that they're still fictional characters. So seeing people react with that much hostility honestly left me more confused than anything else.

And it's not even because they hate Haibara. People are allowed to dislike characters. That's completely fine. It was just... the sheer amount of anger behind those posts. It felt so personal. I genuinely can't wrap my head around how a fictional story can make someone feel that much hatred. Even if it's directed at a fictional character, I just can't imagine getting to that point. To me, the line between fiction and reality has always been pretty clear. Stories are meant to entertain us, even when they make us angry or frustrated. If they ever stopped being enjoyable and started bringing out that kind of hostility in me, I'd probably take it as a sign to step away for a while.

Anyway, maybe I just happened to stumble across the worst side of the fandom, but it honestly caught me so off guard. Has anyone else noticed this too, or did I just get insanely unlucky with my timeline?

That's all, take care y'all!

*SPOILER FILE 1165* Gosho I know we're getting 275 months of hiatus after this panel

Feast to my eyes.

Putting everything aside, it's been such a while since we witnessed a double page on the manga. And dedicated to Shiho. With Wakasa in it.

I'm content.

We get to see her perspective after almost 3 decades...

But isnt she the one who sacrifice herself in order for people around her safe? Gosho rewriting history...?

STUP IS ID DECISION

ONE OF THE STUP IS IDEST PERPETRAT*R

IF SHE CLEARLY HAVE HATRED TOWARDS HER EX-HUSBAND, BECAUSE OF INFIDELITY WHY DID SHE HAVE TO K*LLED MAYAKO. I CANNOT READ HER LOGIC OF DOING THE THINGS SHE COULD HAVE DO, SHE HAS THE THREADS TO DO IT TO HER EX-HUSBAND RATHER THAN PULLING SOMEONE'S ROOTS.

Finally reached 73 Detective Conan Chijimasetai figures!

Finally hit 73 Detective Conan Chijimasetai figures 🕵️‍♂️

That includes the complete Vol. 1–11 Gashapon line, plus 10 special/exclusive Chijimasetai figures.

I’ve been collecting the Chijimasetai line for a while now, and what makes it one of the most interesting Conan merch series is the concept itself: what if everyone was affected by APTX-4869?

Across Vol. 1–11, it slowly builds this weird little “shrunk universe” where Shinichi is always the anchor, and everyone from Gin, Vermouth, Akai, Amuro, FBI agents, police, and even the Police Academy cast gets pulled into the same timeline.

For the photos, I didn’t arrange them by volume—I mixed everything together across four mini shelves and took 4 photos (up to 20 figures per image). It’s a bit chaotic, but that kind of fits the series energy anyway.

Seeing them all together like this makes it feel less like separate releases and more like one connected alternate world.

What’s your favourite Chijimasetai figure or volume so far? And who should finally get shrunk in Vol. 12?

Am I the only one who thinks some of the DC couples are hella unnecessary and forced?

Don't get me wrong, I love romance. ShinRan are honestly one of the biggest reasons I stay invested in the series, and of course Kazuha × Heiji too. I rooted for them for years because they had everything I enjoy in a romance: tension, gradual build-up, longing, and just the right amount of drama. Seeing those couples finally get their moments feels rewarding because the story actually earned them.

My issue isn't with romance itself, it's with how some of the police couples are written. A lot of them don't just feel bland, they also lack chemistry, memorable interactions, or meaningful development. Couples like Chiba and Naeko, Shiratori and Kobayashi, or Shuukichi and Yumi never really made me feel invested. It often feels like the story decided they should end up together instead of naturally building the relationship over time. They have NO chemistry and don't match in terms od personalities.

Even Sato × Takagi, while I do think they're cute, never completely convinced me because Takagi is so often compared to Matsuda that it sometimes feels like he's filling an empty space rather than standing on his own. And don't even get me started on Jugo × Chihaya. Personally, I found Chihaya's history with Matsuda far more compelling and emotionally impactful. Their dynamic had so much potential and left a lasting impression on me. I know it's impossible... but a part of me still wishes Matsuda would somehow come back.

Ain't no way nobody saw your phone in your beanie like that

Just found this old screenshot I took, so I don't know which episode this is – let alone what the guy was doing exactly with the phone. But I can remember the incredulity I felt then.

Another moment I associate with the feeling would be the other case where the culprit had like thirty iPads covering an elevator door.

The “Detective Boys” in this set… aren’t actually the Detective Boys

Edit: Thanks to u/ShirayukiHikari127 for pointing this out. The Chinese box actually says "Detective Group" (探侦团), not "Detective Boys" (少年探侦团). I don't read Chinese, so I relied on machine translation, which translated it as "Detective Boys." "Detective Group" fits the actual lineup much better.

Picked up the LDCX LABS × SCLA Detective Conan tug-of-war figure set and noticed something interesting.

The box calls it “Kaito Kid vs. Detective Boys”, but the actual lineup is:

  • Kaito Kid
  • Conan Edogawa
  • Heiji Hattori
  • Tooru Amuro
  • Ran Mouri
  • Shinichi Kudo
    • A secret Culprit (silhouette with scissors)

The only real member of the Detective Boys is Conan.

What’s even more interesting is that the set is designed as a single connected diorama—each figure contributes part of the same rope, forming one continuous tug-of-war scene.

And the secret figure isn’t just a character either. It comes with an animated blue LED USB-C cable plus an APTX-4869 capsule cable tie, which literally completes the display when lit.

So “Detective Boys” here isn’t really a literal roster—it’s more of a branding label for a mixed main-cast lineup built around a concept scene.

Not really a complaint, just something I thought was interesting as a collector: the title sells a “team,” but the product is really a fan-service crossover diorama.

Also worth noting: it’s a 6-box blind box case, so the Culprit isn’t an extra figure—it’s part of the same set pool and can replace one of the regular characters depending on the case mix.

Does Bourbon know that Kir is a NOC and the other way round?

In Movie 20 they were both captured so they should know about each other but movies aren't canon so do you think that in the canon plot, they know about each other's true identity?

Hoping for the future of Kogoro Mouri

I am hoping that Mouri at the end of the series, knowing of what Conan/Shinichi did by using Mouri with the tranquilizer watch and voice changing bowtie, he will retire as a detective as he knows to himself that he is not worthy to be a detective and he will come back as a policeman instead and shows his amazing shooting skills like his Golden Prime before...and he will never be a drunkard useless father (he will still drink alcohol but for occasions only for celebrations). It's bitter sweet, yes, but he will be finally go back to his senses somehow and his life will be much better, but he will be in danger during his duties soon...

Seriously?

May I ask the mods why the post discussing Ran't character was removed? I don't think anything in it was inappropriate or violate the guidelines, or are we biased? Lol
