Salary - 2L/M; Axis Credit Limit - 27k

Salary - 2L/M; Axis Credit Limit - 27k

I applied for the Flipkart Axis Credit Card about 2 weeks ago. I got an email saying my application was approved, but Axis never mentioned the credit limit anywhere

I checked this sub and found a post about checking the limit through the Axis app. But the app asks for the card details. I also tried the WhatsApp chatbot, but Axis has patched that too and now asks for the activation code printed in the welcome kit

The card took another week to get delivered, and I got it today. Checked the limit and... ₹27K. Honestly, bruh?? 😭

The more irritating part is that it has a ₹500 joining fee + ₹500 annual fee, which is waived only if you spend ₹3.5L in a year. How am I supposed to spend ₹3.5L with a ₹27K limit?

My question is: the application has already resulted in a CIBIL enquiry, so should I activate the card, start using it and request a limit enhancement later? Or should I email Axis immediately and say that I’ll only activate it if they can provide a higher limit?

What would you guys suggest? I'm confused right now

Made a mistake upgrading to ICICI Rubyx. Need help

I made a mistake. Need some advice.

I currently hold Amazon Pay ICICI and ICICI Coral LTF cards, both having a ₹90k credit limit.

For the last couple of months, I had a pre-approved offer for ICICI Rubyx (Amex + Mastercard) in the app.

I wanted to make a purchase worth around ₹1.3L, and there was an ICICI card offer giving a flat ₹9,000 discount. Since my current limit was only ₹90k, I assumed upgrading to Rubyx (which has a ₹3k joining fee and ₹2k annual fee) would also result in a higher credit limit because it's positioned as a premium card.

My thinking was:

- Pay ₹3k joining fee.

- Get ₹9k instant discount (net benefit of ₹6k).

- If I didn't find the card useful, close it before the annual fee became due. (I had already searched this sub and most people seemed to feel the paid Rubyx isn't worth keeping.)

Unfortunately, after the upgrade, the credit limit is still ₹90k 🥲

The card has already been dispatched, but I don't plan to use it now because the limit didn't increase.

A few questions:

  1. Since this is an upgrade and not a fresh application, will the card automatically get cancelled if I don't activate it within 30 days as per RBI guidelines?

  2. In the ICICI app, the new Rubyx card already shows all the transactions made on my Coral card, and there is no "Activate" option. Does that mean it's already considered activated?

  3. If the Rubyx gets cancelled, will my existing Coral LTF card remain intact, or will I lose it because of the upgrade?

Has anyone been in a similar situation with an ICICI card upgrade? Any guidance would be appreciated.
