Unused irrigation zone to drip conversation question

Had my driveway redone and extended which resulted in the removal of an irrigation zone. I have access to the underground poly tubing which I believe is 1".

I'd like to reduce it to 1/2" tubing, run that to my raised garden beds and then use button emitters from there.

60ft 1/2" run, 20gph max.

Do I need a pressure regulator (25psi?)

Wife has decided to sell her beater car to her parents. She, for the most part, knows the make and model of what she wants to replace it with, but we don't have any actual in person experience.

What's the least bothersome way to check out a couple trims knowing that we're not buying exactly today, but reasonably sure within the next four weeks.
