PlayStation dropping disc support after 2028.

How do you guys feel about this decision? Very odd choice to announce it this early considering PlayStation 6 is in early development. Poor choice in my opinion.

The market and consumers will obviously adapt to this but I’m not sure if this is the correct choice moving forward, pc gamers would know best about the pros and cons so please chime in.

Obviously the discs don’t carry the entire data anymore but atleast you could let your buddies borrow games. I personally buy mostly digital anyways but getting rid of disc option is very shady.

GTA 6 price and disc version discussion.

In this short statement i will explain exactly why any complaints about these two topics regarding GTA 6 are simply sensationalism. First and foremost i buy a lot of games, i used to buy physical copies and have a huge collection, still do. But after late release date shipping etc as well as other reasons,i started buying my games digitally. Unless there’s a collectors edition or steelbook case i wont even bother buying disc version. Been buying mostly all my games digitally for well over 7 years at this point; it’s simply much easier for me. Given that this Game will sell an insane amount of copies the company opted to release the physical disc later on in December not only to avoid leaks but also disappointments with mass shipping millions of copies that could potentially arrive days late. If anyone still wants a physical copy which they hold so dearly simply waiting about 12-24 days shouldn’t be a problem considering the only novelty they want is the disc in it of itself for ownership. Now for the price, 80$!! Yes i understand you haven’t seen many games priced this high aside from horrible Nintendo games which are another discusion(yes i own a switch), but let me tell you if there was ever a time a game is worth its buck it should be gta 6, not Mario kart. Now should this price be the new standard? No, it should not.i agree games shouldn’t cost that much, but simply put, when we allowed shit games to sell for 70$ it was already too late, when you start to compile all the broken and horrible games released recently priced at 70$ you’ll realize that we pretty much consented to the price a long time ago. We no longer value quality in games and even differentiate what should be worth 70$ on release. Most gamers still bought half baked games at 70$ with season passes and skins sold separately. While not the case for all 70$ games we can still agree with this consensus. 80$ for one of the biggest premium gaming experiences in a long time is well worth its money. I’ll gladly pay 10$ more dollars for a mastered game.(already preordered ultimate edition), so if 80$ and no disc is enough to stop you from joining the gta community this time around, you simply weren’t here from the jump. We’re in a new gaming landscape and truth is these companies are starting to “adjust for inflation” and if you haven’t noticed these patterns idk what to tell you. This discussion should be saved for consoles increasing their price by atleast 150$!!!!! If you don’t think games will follow that line you’re in for a rude awakening, let’s enjoy this once in a lifetime game, i welcome any other 80$ game that spends 2 billion in development any day. This concludes my initial statement, i will happily reply in the comments for any discussions or questions. (Plz be respectful in the comments to each other and let’s have a logical and respectful debate).
