New pains

Had surgery and my forearm, pinky, and ring finger are no longer numb or in the worst pain.

Had a post op appointment today and I shared with the PA that I started to have electric type pain in my whole hand and thumb to middle finger, since surgery.

Now I’m in a wrist splint. And see her back in a month. How common is this? 🫩😔

Got my hopes up

I saw so much prior to my surgery where we could have instant relief once the nerve was released from compression. I had surgery on Thursday and my hand is more painful and more numb than before surgery. I just had the release done. I’m so scared it didn’t work. I see my orthopedic in 2 weeks and I’m hoping to have a better story by then. I know there’s a change of it not working or getting worse but then what’s next?

Recovery Recommendations

Surgery is on Thursday. I’m a mom of a chaotic 3 year old. I do have my husband and MIL with me.

What are some things you got for recovery that made it more comfortable or what do you wish you had?

Pain control

I have surgery scheduled in 3 weeks. It is sadly what works best for my work schedule.

My pain has been progressively getting worse. Elbow to finger tips. My entire hand and all fingers. It’s definitely nerve pain but more. I have no clue what to do since Tylenol and Advil aren’t helping.

I will probably message my doctor too but I’m desperate. It’s 24/7 no relief and causes me anxiety. And then it I touch anything, it’s hyper sensitive.

TIA
