i dont really post on reddit, but i started at a corporate store as a 370 and, after working on and off between corporate and licensed since 2023, i finally quit for the last time!!!

i worked corporate starbucks first, second licensed (grocery), and third moved away and worked licensed again (target). my target promoted a team member from the starbucks team to the starbucks TL who was just one of those openers, as he did nothing useful yet always sent photos of ever minor inconvenience while he opened with a “hey team. reminder…” this plus the fact that the “simplified menu” couldn’t get less simple but somehow did every week, i finally applied somewhere completely out of my experience level: a preschool.

i ended up getting hired and i’ve been out of starbucks for 2 weeks now, today being my third day of my new job. it’s so crazy to me how fast i’ve grown happy with this job, but whats crazier to me is that dealing with a class of screaming crying kids with no experience,, it’s way easier to manage than starbucks was 😭😭

i’d rather hear 3 four year olds crying all at once over some random nonsense than have someone read off a long iced espresso in a venti cup order from tiktok ever again 🙏

hello! i’m 20(f) and just recently moved to a new area in NJ. i moved from a different county, now i live almost an hour away. i have a few friends but i can’t see them as much anymore considering our distance went from a few blocks to an hour long drive.

i’m struggling to make friends mainly because i have no idea where to look. i live in middlesex now, around rutgers NB, but i haven’t gone back to school yet (probably going for spring of 2027) so it’s harder to find community. i don’t drive but i have enough money to uber nearby, my issue is that i have no idea where to start looking for events.

i can literally do anything as long as it’s getting outside the house. i can participate in an arts and crafts meetup or i can hang out at a party, i just want new friends and new things to do that aren’t working and coming home to do nothing.

any advice helps! thanks for reading if you did! looking forward to some responses :)
