Besides, you know what a cautious fellow I am...

I don't collect for cosplay purposes, so when I decided to look for an Indy pistol, I wasn't really interested in a resin replica for the purpose of taking it to cons. I wanted something real. But at the same time, an antique Smith and Wesson was wayyy out of the price range.

After doing some research, I found that there were a handful of Spanish companies that made firearms based on the S&W model back in the 20s and 30s. They sell at a much cheaper price point relative to actual S&Ws from the era.

This one that I ended up buying is one example. It was produced in 1929, making it period correct for Indy. It's not screen accurate to Indy's Raiders revolver, but it captures a spirit and sense of history that I would prefer over pure screen accuracy.

The holster is just a random antique holster I picked up for $5 from an army surplus store and re-dyed. Someday I'll get around to picking up a screen accurate Raiders holster to accompany!

EDIT: Thanks for helping me get some additional info, everyone. In response to some questions and after taking a closer look at the markings, the revolver appears to have been made by M. Arizmendi y Goenaga of Eibar, Spain. It's marked "M. Arizmendi y Goenaga – Eibar (Spain)," "CAL .38 ESPECIAL," and has Eibar 1929 proof marks, indicating it was proofed in 1929. From what I've learned, it's not a direct counterfeit but a Spanish-made Smith & Wesson-style revolver, most likely patterned after the S&W Military & Police (pre-Model 10) rather than a Triple Lock or N-frame. It seems to be in original condition and is an interesting example of the many quality commercial revolvers produced in Eibar during that period.

Old Indy Cane Top

I couldn't find the original post to give credit, but someone here recently posted about finding the cane topper that old Indy carries in the bookend segments of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles online. Great find! Was able to easily snag one on ebay a couple weeks ago!
