I'm in FL and trying to put together a helicopter (or balloon!) skydive for a friends birthday - willing to shell out for it.
I've called local DZ's (and some as far out as Nevada!) and I just can't seem to find one that does it.
I found Perris Ballooning which apparently is willing, but only does ~5k altitude (the last balloon I did was in Eloy @ 10k) - but Perris is literally the opposite side of the country lol - if there was any closer option I'd be willing to pay to make it happen.
We have 4 jumpers that'd be along for the ride.
If anyone knows of any DZs that might do one this year/events I might not have found - please let me know! Also willing to pay to charter something if that's an option.
Like many of you, I got my CalDigit TS5+ a month or so ago.
It is hooked via TB5 to my 14" M4 Max MacBook Pro, and then to:
The idea here - I'm using near all the the ports and a LOT of bandwidth.
I loved the idea that a single cable would be enough for all this.
Sadly, like many of you, it would randomly "blip" and my monitors would go blank (either both or one, but somewhat random), then need a power cycle to come back, only to lose some devices, and the monitors to "blip" again. It was a nightmare - especially for the price I paid!
I noted that the TS5+ got hot, like, burning hot.
I pulled out my IR thermometer, and it was 125-135F(!!!).
Those operating temperatures are insane - so I ordered these USB powered fans (very little noise, less than my Macbook Pro’s fans): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLV4BWC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 (the "S7" option) - I got a set of 2 wired together to cool my 10G switch below my desk too, but a single one would probably do!
I hooked it to the dock for power and just sat it on top of the dock blowing air down onto it.
I am now about 3 weeks without a single "blip" or dock related issue.
Quick 20$ fix! Hope it helps someone else.
