I bought a Samsung A16 from QVC on Dec 15 and received it about a week later. I didn't activate it until Jan 26, which was partly my mistake. When I contacted customer service to unlock it, I was surprised to learn they denied the request because their unlock policy changed on Jan 20 from 60 days to 365 days.

What I don't understand is why they're not honoring the unlock policy that was in effect when I purchased the phone. There was no activation deadline, and I never received any notice about the policy change. Had I known about the 365-day requirement, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Has anyone been able to get an unlock in a similar situation? Did I really miss the cutoff by just a few days?
