Looking for some advice on my Gen 1. I have a 2012 with the Navigation and Sony sound system. I have a couple other cars and whenever I blast music, it’s MUCH louder in my other cars. The music in the Raptor is much quieter and it feels like it “turns it down” to protect itself from maybe blowing a speaker or something. I’ve turned the speed volume control off and everything I can think of, and basically I’m ready to replace what I need to. So my question is, is the “protection mode” that won’t let me go any louder controlled in the head unit or the amp/speakers? Can I get away with just replacing the amp and speakers or do I need to replace the whole system too?
