my girlfriend and i could never agree on a movie without arguing about it. most nights we'd spend 20+ minutes picking, then settle on something neither of us actually wanted just because we were tired of going back and forth.

eventually i got curious if the problem was that we just didn't have overlapping taste, or if we were bad at finding it while negotiating in real time. so i built a small app where we each swipe on movies separately, no seeing each other's picks, and it shows us what we both said yes to. turns we don't have to break up 💀

so, as a good software engineer, i built an app to fix my relationship problems 😃 where we both swipe on movies independently, no influencing each other, and it creates a list of movies we match on. turns out the overlap exists, it's just hard to find when we were negotiating in real time.
