Need some honest opinions on the Omni SE before dropping cash
Hey everyone,
I’ll be honest, I rarely post on Reddit (mostly just lurk), but I’m in a bit of a dilemma and could use some real opinions.
I actually put down the $10 deposit for the Omni SE because the launch price looks great, and as someone who sits at a desk for way too many hours, I really need a solid chair. But before I pay the final balance on June 16, I want to make sure this isn’t just pure marketing hype.
I was looking closely at their 'Science' page where they show those colorful pressure maps comparing the Omni to the 'Ey' and 'An' (pretty obvious which brands those are). According to their graphics, the Omni has way less pressure points.
But here’s the thing I’ve seen a few community posts and reviews lately whispering that these graphics look suspiciously identical to data from other premium brands or older ergonomic studies. It made me pause.
Since I want to protect my back and my wallet, I just want to know:
- Are these pressure maps actually tested on the Omni chair in a real lab, or are they just generic/adapted charts used for marketing?
- Is there an actual, downloadable whitepaper or independent report anywhere that backs up these charts and those crazy 0.8mm spine decompression numbers?
I really want to love this chair and complete my order, but with all these Kickstarter pop-up brands nowadays, I just want some transparency. If anyone has a link to the actual study or if the mods can clarify, that would be amazing.
Thanks a lot!
