r/LiberNovo

Really glad Libernovo is keeping bigger guys in mind.

6'2" and 300lbsish on a good day, and I've tried a lot of chairs. Even a lot of "XL" chairs don't feel comfortable, they just feel "big". I still haven't found many that fit properly across the upper back, and headrests have always been an issue too(except some aftermarket ones I've found)

For me personally, wider shoulders have always made narrower backrests uncomfortable, and headrests especially for me matter, but I always need to jerry-rig myself or buy something aftermarket to be able to support my head.

The Libernovo Maxis looks like it gets lot of things right. I wanted to like the Omni so much after seeing how hyped it was, but obviously It didn't fit me very well. Maxis looks like they've taken all the good from the Omni but made it into something that can fit me properly.

I'm currently using an Embody Gaming with an aftermarket headrest and don't really have any major complaints with it, but I still ended up putting down a deposit for the Maxis because it really feels like it was made for people built like me. I opted for the airflow version too because seat ventilation isn't something I've seen before and we don't need to talk about that but that's something I could use for sure.

LiberNovo Maxis — Premium Price, Commercial shipping less than a year, 2-Year Motor Warranty. Is It Worth It?

I've been deep in research mode comparing ergonomic chairs for a while now and finally have some thoughts on the new LiberNovo Maxis lineup that I think the community needs to hear.

The Price Reality

Maxis Electric starts at C$1,509 and Airflow at C$1,76 on top of it tax. Add a bundle and you're easily looking at C$2,000+. For a brand that's barely a year old with zero long-term track record, that's a bold ask.

The Warranty Problem

Here's what really bothers me:

Frame warranty: 5 years ✅

Electronics/motor warranty: 2 years only ⚠️

So you're paying a premium price for a motorized lumbar system that's only covered for 2 years. What happens when the motor dies in year 3? Nobody knows yet — the chair hasn't been around long enough to find out. Reviewers at T3 and Tom's Hardware raised this exact concern.

The Deposit Catch

The C10 deposit unlocks a C30 discount voucher — sounds great right? Until you read the fine print:

Valid on orders of C$1,400 or more only.

That eliminates the Omni SE (C$849) and Maxis Manual entirely. The coupon only works on the two most expensive models. Clever marketing.

The Massage Reality

The OmniStretch "massage" is essentially the backrest moving forward and backward. One real customer called it "does jack shit, literally just pushes you off the chair." Professional reviewers called it "not game-changing." For a chair at this price point, the massage system feels underwhelming compared to competitors offering multiple dedicated massage modes.

Competitor Comparison

LiberNovo Maxis Electric — C$1,509

→ 1 massage mode, 2yr motor warranty, no app, ~1yr old brand

Lavenne R9 — ~C$820

→ 6 massage modes, air bladder system, carbon fiber chassis, modular upgrades, but unproven/new brand, no reviews yet

Hbada X7 — ~C$1,640

→ Real AI lumbar tracking, 8D massage, heating AND cooling, but mixed build quality reviews

Herman Miller Aeron — C$2,800+

→ 12 year warranty, decades of proven reliability, no massage, no smart features, but the gold standard for longevity

What LiberNovo NEEDS to justify this price:

App control — at C$1,500+ you expect smart features. The original Omni has none and neither does Maxis

Better massage system — 6+ dedicated modes, not just one basic stretch

Extended motor warranty — minimum 5 years to match the frame

Improved customer service — multiple Trustpilot reports of shipping delays and no response

Proven track record — give it a year before charging Herman Miller adjacent prices

My take:

The chair itself looks genuinely impressive — the 52cm seat depth, BIFMA certification, and FlexFit backrest are real innovations for big and tall users. But the price-to-warranty ratio on electronics is hard to stomach for a brand this new.

At C$1,509 you're one motor failure away from an expensive manual chair after year 2.

Would love to hear from anyone who has the original Omni — especially on long term motor reliability. That's the million dollar question for Maxis buyers.

I also backed this chair

Omni SE vs Maxis for a semi-tall person?

I'm 6'2 and 165lbs. I want to get the Libernovo Omni SE, but I'm not sure if the Maxis would be more appropriate for me since it was designed for tall people. I'm not really that heavy so I don't think weight will be an issue with the Omni, but I'm a bit worried about height. Are there any people with similar builds as me who can give me advice on which to pick?

"Starting at" Price visible on the official site for SE, Pro, Maxis

was just reading the deposit page and found the price for the upcoming releases available in the "Find the Perfect Support for You" section:

Price for Canada / US:

  • SE - Starting at C$849 / US$569
  • Pro - Starting at C$1329 / US$909
  • Maxis - Manual - Starting at C$1169 / US$809
  • Maxis - Electric - Starting at C$1509 / US$1049
  • Maxis - Airflow - Starting at C$1769 / US$1239

I assume these will be the "Super Early Bird" prices for those who made the $10 deposit.

Need some honest opinions on the Omni SE before dropping cash

Hey everyone,

I’ll be honest, I rarely post on Reddit (mostly just lurk), but I’m in a bit of a dilemma and could use some real opinions.

I actually put down the $10 deposit for the Omni SE because the launch price looks great, and as someone who sits at a desk for way too many hours, I really need a solid chair. But before I pay the final balance on June 16, I want to make sure this isn’t just pure marketing hype.

I was looking closely at their 'Science' page where they show those colorful pressure maps comparing the Omni to the 'Ey' and 'An' (pretty obvious which brands those are). According to their graphics, the Omni has way less pressure points.

But here’s the thing I’ve seen a few community posts and reviews lately whispering that these graphics look suspiciously identical to data from other premium brands or older ergonomic studies. It made me pause.

Since I want to protect my back and my wallet, I just want to know:

  1. Are these pressure maps actually tested on the Omni chair in a real lab, or are they just generic/adapted charts used for marketing?
  2. Is there an actual, downloadable whitepaper or independent report anywhere that backs up these charts and those crazy 0.8mm spine decompression numbers?

I really want to love this chair and complete my order, but with all these Kickstarter pop-up brands nowadays, I just want some transparency. If anyone has a link to the actual study or if the mods can clarify, that would be amazing.

Thanks a lot!

Is anyone else as interested in the Pro as I am?

Tired my friend's Omni and it was incredible, so comfy. I was literally about to buy one, then Libernovo announced the new models. I think the Pro is gonna be way better for our summers here. Foam cushions tend to make me sweat, but mesh just isn't comfortable if you're gaming for any real length of time. The Pro seems to fix both issues. It looks like really solid quality overall and their early bird deals are decent. Anyone else thinking about preordering the pro or SE?

LiberNovo Omni SE and LiberNovo Omni Pro. Same philosophy. Same system. Different feature sets for different needs.

In both, the neck rest, backrest, and armrests move together as you recline, so support tracks your spine at every angle.

Shared across both:

• 105°–160° recline with 5 locking positions

• Multi-density foam seat cushion

• Dynamic support system: neck rest, backrest, armrests, and seat all in sync

LiberNovo Omni SE. Better Comfort, Simplified.

  • Manually adjusted lumbar
  • 105° / 115° / 125° / 135° / 160° five-positions recline control
  • Armrest range: +16 mm / –20 mm lowest position
  • Lumbar pivot angle moves backward for reduced pelvic pressure
  • Cushion: thickened foam with an anti-slip surface

LiberNovo Omni Pro. Where performance peaks.

  • Motorized lumbar support
  • OmniStretch Function
  • 105° / 115° / 125° / 135° / 160° five-positions recline control
  • Armrest range: +16 mm / –20 mm lowest position
  • Lumbar pivot angle moves backward for reduced pelvic pressure
  • Cushion: thickened foam with anti-slip surface

What's different from LiberNovo Maxis?

LiberNovo Maxis: sized for 5'10"–6'7", up to 399 lbs. 52cm seat depth, wider back frame (430mm shoulder, 520mm lumbar), and a controlled recline system. More room to move.

Super Early Bird deposit is open across the lineup. US$10 unlocks:

⚡ Early Bird pricing

🎁 Deposit-exclusive gift, unlocked at final payment

🚚 Free shipping

🔧 One extra year of warranty on the chair frame (electric parts not covered)

I did a mod for the tilt mechanism! Set it to 1.5. Fells like a new chair.

So, I have little experience with 3d modeling, and this mod could be WAY better design (i can sketch in pen and paper how to improve it, but i cannot model it, so if someone whats to improve it feel free)

It's a simple 1 min print, 1 gram of filament (i use 100% infill and I advise you to do the same)

It's a simple print but not so easy to put on the chair... I try to explain in with these pictures. However if you own a 3D printer you probably have a maker mentality, you can figure it out, just start disassembling the base, taking out the screws that you see until you can see the tilt mechanism, after that if should be pretty obvious.

This makes it so the position 2 does not go so much back, you can think of it like a in between 1 and 2 position, but keep in mind this does not make the chair have 5 settings, it's still the same 4, but the second position is higher up.

Libernovo Australia

It seems weird to me that they have just released the new models of the Omni but here in Australia we only have the original for pre-order. I had emailed them asking if the new ones were going to get released here and was told they have no timeline as to when it would be available and they were unable to confirm whether it will be introduced in the future.

They did offer my a $300 discount on their current model though however this almost seems like just a way to move their old model. It is also seems to be the same discount they have allowed Jb hi-fi to sell it for.

Return or not?

A few weeks ago, I ordered the chair from Amazon and was quite pleased with it.

Of course, they released a new version a few weeks later, but I’m still within my return period.

The only thing holding me back from returning it is the uncertainty about the pricing of the new chairs.

Since I’m a larger person, I’m considering whether to go for the Pro or the Max version.

What would you do if you were in my shoes? Should I return the chair or keep it? I guessing the price would be around the same (at least for the Pro).

If Libernovo was smart they would just make their chairs modular

No one is going to buy every new model of these chairs whenever they drop. If they want a consistent cash flow then they should make adaptable new features that can be added to the older models. You want the 52cm seat? Buy and connect the seat assembly. Same for bigger arm rests or the fan or whatever new and improved feature they come up with. Users will stay loyal to the brand and stay happy and never feel like they bought “too soon” and wasted money.

Video Comparing front of the seat cushions of the SE, Pro, & Original

Hope this helps. I have another thread where I linked my YouTube video and was answering questions as best as I can. I don’t have the maxis so can’t speak to that other than what’s already known.

u/MiRealEscape — 8 days ago

I have the SE and the Pro. You can ask me specific questions.

Hey everyone,

I was one of the content creators that put out a video during the reveal on the 12th. I have the mostly complete prototypes of the SE (Obsidian Black) and the Pro (Glacier White). I was not able to get the footrest as they weren’t ready yet, but they just match the material and color. Don’t think they are any different besides that.

Video is linked.

If you guys have any specific questions, I can try my best to answer them!

Some facts about me:

I’m 5’6” and about 165 lbs. and I’ve been using the original Omni with the footrest since late November and I made a review video on that one towards the end of the year.

Other than the Omni, I have a Steel Case Leap. I haven’t tried any other high end chairs, but plenty of mid to lower tier chairs.
