Does mid quality 3 year old chair have to go or can I buy an ergonomic cushion for now?
My chair is only 3 years old, but I do use it every weekday for at least 8-10 hours a day. Since I bought it when I first started working, it’s not the absolute best quality, and I live in a third world country, so high end chairs are like 70% of my min wage and I’m not able to find the good brands people abroad do.
Now, I have decent savings, and am currently unemployed, but if everything goes well I should be back to my normal-ish min wage soon. (Yay being in your 20’s!) I can afford the chair, but I’m also kind of a miser and if possible, would like to at least get another year of use out of that thing.
This week I had terrible lower back pain, and now I have upper back pain. Truthfully I have a shit posture and I need to get back to exercising so that’s definitely a factor, plus I think the overworking my back must’ve been doing when I had lower back pain caused the new pain, but I was wondering if I could just buy an ergonomic cushion and perhaps wait it out till 2027, or late December at least.
Like I said, I don’t want to spend, specially being unemployed rn, but I’m not so stupid as to give myself potential future back issues because of that. Could an ergonomic cushion genuinely help for a few months, or should I just spring for the new chair?
