Is Texas turning Blue?

The last time a Democrat won a statewide office in Texas was 1994. Now James Talarico has a real shot in this year’s midterms.

But what if this is bigger than just one election? What if Texas slowly starts going the way of Colorado or Virginia and eventually becomes a blue state?

Being from San Antonio, I’m curious what that would actually look like here. Bexar County already leans Democratic, but the rest of Texas is a completely different story. If Democrats start winning statewide, Republicans would have to rethink how they campaign here, especially with Hispanic and suburban voters.

What do y’all think? Is Texas actually starting to turn blue, or are we reading too much into one midterm election?

San Antonio, what do y’all really think about this Spurs arena deal?

I’ll be honest, I don’t want to see the Spurs leave San Antonio. We’ve seen other cities lose their teams, and with Vegas becoming such a big destination for sports, I’d hate for that to ever happen here.

They’re talking about $2+ billion in investment, new jobs and businesses, plus $75 million in community benefits.

That sounds good, but my question is, how much of that is actually going to benefit regular San Antonians?

I’m all for keeping the Spurs here. I just want to make sure this is a good deal for the city too, not just developers and corporations.

Would you support the deal if it means keeping the Spurs in San Antonio? Why or why not?
