Anyone else kind of raw dogging PMDD?

I’ve tried a couple of SSRIs over the years, but have stopped taking them because of them lowering my heat tolerance. But now, I just drink nettle and spearmint tea from my mid-Luteal phase through my period. I also use some of the tools I’ve learned talk therapy and use marijuana for really low mental health days particularly during my late-Luteal phase.

Anyone else not necessarily using medication to navigate their symptoms?

EDIT: I realize now that many of us have different perceptions of “raw dogging,” which I understand as not using a prescribed, controlled medication to treat symptoms of a condition. Now after reading some comments, I believe this term may not have been the most accurate, universally-defined term to use. With that being said, I do understand the herbal medicine and CBT are both treatments. And this was written with true curiosity and not for advice. I genuinely like seeing what practices support different people! This regimen has been serving me well along with other practices, such as bodily awareness, cycle tracking, daily physical activity, etc. I truly appreciate everyone’s vulnerability!

Power out at Southpoint

Went to go see I Want Your Sex at AMC, and around 9:05PM, the power cut out. It was madness getting out of the theater and even more getting out of the mall parking lot, but it seems we’re all working together! I just think it’s hilarious that Duke Energy wants us to pay more, yet their service is getting shittier and shittier.

Anyone having trouble maintaining habits around PMDD?

I’ve been familiar with PMDD for about 2 years now (after a friend pointed out that some of the symptoms I experience during my luteal phase aren’t typical and mentioned PMDD). Over that time, I’ve had an IUD (Lileeta), I’ve used Citalopram (Celexa/SSRI), and tried a tea remedy. The tea remedy proved to be the most gentle in side effects (I still have my IUD but am no longer taking Celexa due to lessened heat tolerance), but now I’ve fallen off with that and am struggling to get back on it.

My confidence in my capacity has been getting worse and worse as I navigate this illness, capitalism, the current state of the US politics, and everyday things like housework, full-time work, hobbies, and friends. I know no person is handling all of these things perfectly and thoroughly all day every day. I understand that expecting perfection from myself or anyone is a moot point, but sometimes I wish I could move through more days with ease rather than it feeling like I’m dragging myself up to get things done and meet friends places. I’m grateful to have such a full life and to have so many people and activities in my life, and also, I want to move through them with more ease.
