Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
Earthy nose with fresh cherries, raspberries, light wood, spices, herbs, earth, light vegetables, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, black tea and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn and dark chocolates.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 12 year old Rioja Reserva is drinking very nicely now. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and engaging.
I had this vintage 7 years ago, and it is drinking better now.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.
Kosher and not Mevushal.
