Discovery 1 and 2, why are they cheap?
Hi all, we are based in Europe and looking for a capable 4x4 for overlanding. We have been doing it for a while in our well equipped small 4x4 (no low range or diff lock) but a recent trip to Morocco made me decide we need a more capable 4x4 with more comfort on rough roads. I want one that will last and doesn't have many electronic gadgets so from the 1990s or early 2000s
I have looked at Land Cruisers, Nissan Patrol, LR Defenders, Discos and Mitsubishi Pateros
I don't understand why the Disco 1 and 2 are so much cheaper than a land cruiser, patrol or a defender. I read that Disco 1 and 2 are strong, capable, comfortable and pre electronics era, are super reliable. Discos are half the price of all other Japanese models and defenders too. I also love the look of a discovery, I am tempted to do a camel trophy replica
What am I missing?
