The first of many Rico Hines Runs to come, featuring VJ Edgecombe, Labaron Philon, and many more.

VJ’s handles really stick out to me here. Add in the shooting improvement too, this has me stoked for next season and he’s going to be our 5th best starter 😭

All-Star Game 2027

Listening to RTRS right now and they were discussing over/under for how many All-Stars will be on this 76ers team. How many and who do you guys reckon will make the ASG?

LeBron 2027

Not to sound stupid or anything but does anyone reckon when LeBron said “this is my last decision” last week he meant that this is his final team selection for the rest of his career?

He has the opt-out clause after the 1st season of his 2-year deal which technically could open the door for him to leave for another team (even if it’s just to retire in Cleveland) but I did wonder if that would contradict his “last decision” statement

Joel Embiid was a “heavy figure in LeBron’s recruitment” to land with Philly, per @Tjonesonthenba

And to think some idiot on this sub argued with me insisting Embiid would be a reason LeBron didn’t wanna play here in favour of………..Anthony Davis 🤡🤡🤡

Song name in today’s episode

Anyone know the name of the tune playing in the background of the scene at the Vic between 13:04 and 14:22 of today’s episode (23rd July 2026)? It’s popular as I have heard it many times before. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

It would appear the timing of the World Cup had nothing to do with LeBron’s decision announcement

This could take longer than we expected ladies and gents. Buckle up!

Starting 5 facilitation

With Jaylen Brown now in the mix and considering we are trying to have Maxey play more off-ball, who do you believe between Maxey, Edgecombe and Brown should be the primary ball-handler and distributing to others? JB is very good at iso but prone to turning it over and often seen as something of a ball-hog.

We could continue using Maxey as the “PG” like in the past 2 seasons but that would mean using him less off ball which is where he’s more deadly as shown playing with Harden or Embiid in 2023-24.

Do we use Embiid more as a hub a la Sabonis or hope VJ will now maintain a reduced role averaging fewer shot attempts per night than Maxey, Edgecombe, Brown and Embiid and hope he can take on more of a facilitator role? Even if we do this, I don’t think it’s fair to cap VJ’s ceiling

And of course, if we somehow land LeBron, he’d help an awful lot with setting everyone else up on paper but that is far from a given

TLDR: which player do you want setting everyone else up as currently constructed to avoid “my turn, your turn” hoops?

Back-up bigs

Those of you have that been watching Summer League, do either Johni or Big Fish look like they have a solid chance of being the primary back-up for Embiid this coming season?

I like Bona’s defense more than anyone else’s but he’s still too raw offensively whilst Broome and Big Fish show potential of having better hands and stretching the floor

“It genuinely couldn’t be any more obvious”

Before I get slaughtered, I know this is only based on speculation. HOWEVER, it’d not shock me at all if LeBron did all this drama just to return home to Cleveland. Philly interest always felt like strictly a Rich Paul thing because of business and Maxey basically becoming the new face of Klutch as Bron is ceremoniously ushered out of the league

Anyone else a bit bummed by not trading into the 2nd round?

We had endless future 2nds to spare and this specific draft class was like the ONE instance I’d have been happy burning multiple 2nds for since it feels like we almost never get a regular rotation player out of the 2nd round and Gansey said he was aggressively trying to enter the 2nd round after drafting Philon

We also don’t have much money to sign quality role players in FA (if there are even any good FAs) so this draft would have been a good way to build the team for cheap

I’m not complaining of course but it seems EVERYONE is wondering the same thing as to what happened pre-draft

Thoughts on this trade scenario?

DISCLAIMER: I must preface this by saying this wasn’t my idea but rather something I saw floated in the comments of an Liberty Ballers article recently

This is the trade: 2028 LAC unprotected 1st + 2029 LAC pick swap for Kel’el Ware and 2026 MIA FRP (#13).

We use the 13th overall pick to draft Morez and still retain our 22nd pick from the McCain trade on someone like Swain whilst adding a young, athletic rim protector who can space the floor and rebound in Ware to a core headlined by Maxey and Edgecombe

I understand very well the above contains an awful lot of hypotheticals. But just say, if the Heat accepted this trade, would you do it?

The Philadelphia 76ers are promoting assistant general manager Jameer Nelson to the team's Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations under new President Mike Gansey

My question is if Jameer’s the assistant GM and Gansey’s the new POBO then who’s the new GM? Elton Brand’s gone now as confirmed by Shams in a follow-up tweet
