First day hardening!!!

Zone 6B! Usually plant Memorial Day weekend but going in a week early to try and get them in ASAP! Hopefully the weather participates! Lows will be in the 50s by the time I plant …. I think I have too much 😅

We have a conversation about something he gives me an opinion or just agrees with me… My family comes over a little bit later and he says no way and goes against everything I just said in private. This isn’t the first time he’s had a different opinion on things we have talked about in private then changes up when we are around people. I’ve asked him about this and every time he just shuts down and says fine when whoever comes over I’ll just go in the other room which would be super awkward since we all usually hangout together. I don’t know what he actually believes if he’s just putting on a good front for whoever he’s in front of. It mostly seems like he doesn’t bother to engage with me. I’m not sure what to do. It seems our communication is just very poor :(

Another thing is every time we try to discuss something before making a big decision I’ll try questioning things or bounce other ideas off each other to see if it’s a good fit and he always says I don’t listen to him or believe him which I don’t think is the case I’m just trying to have a conversation…. I don’t know how to improve our communication skills without him thinking I’m attacking him or him thinking he’s wrong or crazy. When I bring this up to him he says he feels like I don’t ever listen to him where I feel the same we can never have a conversation about something without disagreeing.

Any tips or suggestions? Do I just submit and never have an opinion on something?

Tl;dr It drives me INSANE that my husband changes his opinions on things we have discussed in private when he gets around certain people. When we have conversations about important topics it always ends in I’m not listening to him or he’s always in the wrong
