I really need to rant about Hoopla
I haven’t been able to borrow anything on this stupid app since late March. After getting this error message for a few weeks I went to the library and asked the librarians if they knew what was up. They told me that in April the library cut its budget on Hoopla due to rising costs. Their advice was to try to borrow books either at midnight when it reset or super early in the mornings. I have tried booth of these options as well as trying to borrow books as soon as the month rolls over to the next. Nothing. I get this error every time. I’m starting to wonder if A.) people that use my library are using up all the borrows immediately and not leaving some for the rest of us or B.) the library actually cut the Hoopla budget all together.
It’s extremely frustrating because most of the books I have on hold through Libby have weeks - months long wait times. Any other recommendations on apps for audiobooks that aren’t Audible? I still use Libby but I get frustrated waiting 6-8 weeks between books that are in a series.
