What was the reason ‘that colleague’ was finally let go- Physio edition
Just saw the post on the nursing sub and was curious what answers I’ll get to hear about in the physio sub.

I need some genuine advice because I feel like I'm going crazy and I don't know if I've screwed myself over.
Background:
- I moved from Midlands to London recently.
- Was under Rheumatology care in midlands.
- Registered with a new GP in London.
- Saw a locum GP who referred me to Hospital A (which turned out to be 2 hours away by bus - trains don't even go there).
- Locum said Hospital A had a shorter waiting list and apparently shared some kind of system with the GP surgery, so I agreed.
- Went to my first appointment at Hospital A and it was an absolute shitshow. My GP hadn't transferred any of my Midlands notes, so the specialist had nothing to go on. The consultant was clearly in a rush to get somewhere, the appointment was haphazard, lasted about 20 minutes, and I left feeling completely dismissed.
- That specialist then sent a Shared Care Plan to my GP (for my meds, etc.).
The part I need advice on:
I went back to my GP and said I didn't want to continue at Hospital A because:
My GP agreed to refer me to Hospital B (much closer).
But my GP specifically told me she would NOT accept the Shared Care Plan from the Hospital A specialist. Her reason? She said if she accepted it, it would show up on my records, and the new specialist at Hospital B would be able to see that I was already seen at Hospital A and had transferred. She made it sound like this would cause problems.
I was fine with that. I didn't want the new specialist to think I was doctor-shopping or being difficult.
Today I logged into my NHS App and saw the GP has ACCEPTED the Shared Care Plan from Hospital A.
I also have an appointment at Hospital B in 2 weeks.
My concerns:
What I need to know:
I don't want to walk into my new appointment looking like a problem patient. I just want good rheumatology care somewhere that doesn't take me 4 hours round-trip on public transport.
Any advice from people who work in the NHS, GPs, or anyone who's been in a similar situation would be massively appreciated.
I am a B5 MSK physio in the UK. I have four years of prior MSK experience and not in the UK, and there is a B6 post that’s opened up in my department that I applied to. Problem is I have not been a part of any audits or service development initiatives in the UK as of yet. Service already runs exercise classes. It already does everything basically.
What examples or what can I talk about in terms of service development and initiatives and stuff like that?
We are a GP referred service. There is no FCP pathway.
Any ideas?

I’m an msk b5 physio and there was a vacancy in my dept for a b6. I work weird hours and have been also dealing with some health problems and so had written only half my statement and wrote the rest today and then today I go to submit and see that the vacancy on Trac has closed in just 2 days and I’m devastated and want to cry.
If i approach the hiring manager who’s our clinical lead and speak to her do you think there’s a chance she may still let me apply or figure a way out or should I just drop this? B6 vacancies come up very rarely in my dept and I just feel like I dropped the ball on this.

I am an MSK B5 physio on the lowest grade in the UK. I basically joined 2 months ago and my probation period ends in the 2nd week on July. I have around 4 years of previous experience from my home country.
A B6 vacancy has come up in my dept and I have received gentle nudges from the other B6s working with me to apply for that role. I am however not sure if this will look like I’m being too ambitious? Or if this is even allowed during the probation period? I would have asked my reporting Band 7 but she’s on leave. Any advice anyone? Should I go ahead and apply or should I speak to my clinical lead of the service who will eventually end up taking the interview as well?

Hi guys. Need some advice.
I'm an Indian citizen currently in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa (Health and Care-NHS). I'm eligible for Portuguese citizenship through my dad. Back in 2019, I actually went ahead and collected my Portuguese CC (Cartão de Cidadão-the national ID card). So I've had that for years.
Now my Indian passport is about to expire. Here's the problem: I can't renew my Indian passport because India doesn't allow dual citizenship, and since I already have the Portuguese CC, they won't renew it. So I'm basically forced to formally take Portuguese citizenship now and surrender my Indian passport.
My main worry is will this cause any issues with my UK Skilled Worker visa? I'm not just renewing a passport, I'm changing my entire nationality.
From what I've read, you can update your UKVI account with a new nationality and passport details online, and it's free (not a new visa application). But I'm still nervous because:
Has anyone here done something similar — changing nationality entirely while on a UK work visa?
Thanks in advance!
I was under rheumatology care at a trust in South Yorkshire and I have a follow-up appointment scheduled for early June. This appointment is important because it’s for a review and to get a repeat prescription for medication that can only be prescribed by a rheumatologist.
However, I’ve now moved to London, and my new GP here referred me to Wexham Park Hospital (Slough) about a week ago. They’ve already accepted the referral and given me an appointment for a week after my Yorkshire appointment.
My question is: should I still travel back to Yorkshire and attend that appointment, and then also attend the Wexham Park one? Or should I cancel the Yorkshire appointment?
My previous rheumatologist knew I was planning to move and booked this appointment partly in case my move didn’t happen in time, so I’m not sure what’s best.
I’m also feeling really anxious about meeting a new rheumatologist and having to explain my decade-long medical history all over again, especially when my current medication is working really well and has honestly been life-changing for me. My biggest fear is that the new rheumatologist might decide to change my meds, even though the ones prescribed by my previous rheumatologist are keeping me stable and well.
Another factor is work is that I’ve recently started a new NHS job and I’m still on probation. I’ve already got leave approved for the early June Yorkshire appointment, but I’d still need to request leave for the Wexham Park one.
What would you do in my situation? Is it safer to attend both appointments so there’s no gap in care/prescriptions, or should I cancel the Yorkshire one and just transfer everything over to the new trust?
Would really appreciate any advice, especially from anyone who’s gone through transferring specialist care between NHS trusts.
