Trying to get up to a full supply. Is it just time at this point?

I’m 5wpp and have been working on increasing my supply the last few weeks. Baby girl was born at 37 weeks and has been very sleepy and inefficient at the breast, only transferring 15-20ml per feed. We’ve been supplementing with formula since the hospital due to weight loss and jaundice, but I wasn’t well informed on supply and demand, so I’ve been transitioning to primarily exclusively pumping to kick my supply in gear.

In the last 2-3 weeks, I’ve increased my daily output from about 7oz to 18-19oz per day. I produce roughly 1.5-2oz per pump, sometimes more than 2oz. On the rare occasion I’ve slept too long, I’ve produced 3-4oz total. Baby girl is now starting to take about 24oz per day, and ideally I’d like to make closer to 30oz per day. Here’s what I’ve done/been doing:

- Pump 8-9 times per day with my Spectra (every 2-3 hours)
- Hydrate with water and electrolytes
- Eat lots of protein
- Take Motherlove moringa milk plus capsules (4-6 per day)
- Power pumped once a day for one week straight
- I will latch her 1-2x a day if she seems interested, even if she just takes a couple of swallows or comfort sucks to sleep

Is there still hope that my supply will gradually increase if I stay the course? Do I need to add back in power pumping? Will I tank my supply if I start introducing wearables 1-2x a day a couple of times a week to get some of my freedom and sanity back?

Milk supply after weaning off blood pressure meds

I am three weeks postpartum and starting to wean off of my blood pressure meds after being induced at 37+1 for preeclampsia.

Since delivery, I’ve been working on increasing my milk supply. The first week was rough as I was kept in the hospital for a week until my readings got under control with the right combination of meds. Has tapering off the meds helped anyone’s supply? Right now I’m making about 50-60% of what baby needs and hoping I can continue to increase.

I have an undersupply. How much can I realistically expect to increase it, and how quickly?

I’m two weeks postpartum with a newborn baby girl after being induced at 37 weeks for preeclampsia. Baby and I were kept in the hospital for nearly a week following delivery while my blood pressure was getting under control. We’ve been combo feeding with formula since day two due to her losing more than 10% of her birth weight. I missed several pumping sessions in the hospital due to the stress of our situation, but now I’m fighting to bring up my supply. We are still working on latching and staying awake at the breast, so I’m triple feeding in the meantime as she’s not fully draining me when latched.

She eats about 2oz per feeding, but I’m only producing about a total of 1oz per pump. About twice a day, I’ll pump for nearly 20 minutes and only walk away with 5-10ml, although my power pumps may be helping with this now as I haven’t had this happen today.

We’re working with a lactation consultant, but is it realistic to think that I could eventually to get to 3-4oz per pump? How long would that take?

Undersupply, wildly varied pumping outputs.

I’m 13 days postpartum with a newborn baby girl after being induced at 37 weeks for preeclampsia. Baby and I were kept in the hospital for nearly a week following delivery while my blood pressure was getting under control. We’ve been combo feeding with formula since day one due to her losing more than 10% of her birth weight. I missed several pumping sessions in the hospital due to the stress of our situation, but now I’m fighting to bring up my supply. We are still working on latching and staying awake at the breast, so I’m triple feeding in the meantime as she’s not draining me at the breast.

She eats about 2oz per feeding, but I’m only producing about 1oz total on average. But, sometimes, I’ll pump for nearly 20 minutes and only walk away with 5-10ml. It is so defeating to see my pumps widely vary so much.

We’re working with a lactation consultant, but in the meantime, is that variation in pumps normal? Will it level out? Any advice?
