Hi, can anyone share their experience applying for Alameda County(OR surrounding counties) and what their interview and hiring process was like?

I went into a panel "oral examination" last week and received an email today stating that I scored 95% and I am rank 3. The next steps are a bit unclear.. i think becauseI was in the top 5 rank, my application will be forwarded to the hiring managers... but I was also told that the oral exam could be a hiring interview?

I am currently unemployed and have other job offers so I want to know what to expect. I know it can take 2-3 months to officially get hired with the county.

How have you guys navigated friendships that feel deeply one sided? i.e. they talk the whole time, interrupt, trauma dump, ask you no questions, highly defensive, and only reach out when it is convenient.

Essentially, intense friendships that seem great on the surface, but leave you drained and depleted.

I’m a social worker so by nature I love to listen, ask questions, and give advice. I know I need better boundaries. Working on that piece.

I would love to hear any thoughts/advice/personal experiences.
