Need to Surrender
I need to surrender my two frogs. Ive tried contacting shelters and places nearby but they either dont get back to me or tell me they cant help me and suggest a list of places Ive already spoken to. I have to move tomorrow, have been trying to contact places all throughout the state for a couple months now. I finally got a response after my third try from one place a couple days ago, but when I got the text for scheduling I never got a response to my message back. I am based in Massachusetts, moving from Scituate to Worcester. I dont have my own vehicle anymore, I had to sell it after it broke down, but can make it to the cape cod area because I was offered to join a trip. My frogs are two dumpies, named Jasper & Jade. As far as I can tell they are female and adult but I never got a confirmation on either from the Petco I bought them from a couple years ago. I can no longer afford to keep them, especially now that they are starting to get sick. They have slightly cloudy eyes (the cloudiness fluctuates and sometimes almost isnt there) and sometimes their skin has like a small spot or two that doesnt shift colors with the rest of their body. They are housed together and are both showing symptoms, but Jasper seems a little worse off in terms of eye cloudiness. They are both still just as active as they were and have been eating the same. Sorry they are a little dirty in the photo, I didnt want to have them out of the tank too long since I dont handle them often and didnt want to stress them more by washing them off for the pic or something. Anyway, I need resources on what tf to do in this situation, I can’t just let them get sicker and sicker in my care. Ive also tried local facebook groups, but they have all either left my requests to collect dust or denied them for some reason
TLDR: I need resources to surrender my frogs because I can no longer care for them & they are sick. Reddit is my last ditch effort, and I am based in Massachusetts, moving from the south shore to western MA tomorrow.
