Nyack Street Fair - Prices for food and a severe lack of prices for food
Hi all,
I am a long time Rockland resident and a long time fan of the Nyack Street Fair. I always go 3 to 4 times a year. It's a great experience to walk around and check out different ethnic foods. See lots of interesting handicrafts, art, jewelry and just to people watch. The lady walking around with the big snake on her neck and shoulders was different.
I went at noon and it was packed. Lots of opportunity for the vendors to sell their stuff and make money. That is a good thing.
But I have to say the prices for food is just outrageous. $31 for a lobster roll. $6 for a gourmet chocolate chip cookie or 4 for $20. $8 for an iced tea. $7 for lemonade poured out of a bottle of Kirkland brand from Costco. A plate of Korean or Indian food for $22.
Most of the vendors selling food do not even have prices displayed on their signage.
Now I know prices have gone up and I see that every week when I go to the supermarket to shop for food. But some of these prices are just insane.
I came away from the street fair today rather disappointed.
