Has anyone with this degree of hearing loss gotten a hearing aid from Costco?

Has anyone with this degree of hearing loss gotten a hearing aid from Costco?

My right ear is close to normal. My left ear has some pretty terrible hearing loss. I think it's around severe or profound. This test wasn't done that recently and so I don't remember everything that was told to me. I do remember the doctor saying that I might want to use a CROS hearing aid. How that works just sounds incredibly irritating. Even if my left ear can't be brought up to anywhere near where my right ear is, I would rather go that route. I want to schedule an appointment with Costco for another test and to discuss options, but before I take the time to go, I'm just wondering, has anyone benefitted from a hearing aid from Costco with this degree of hearing loss? Thanks guys!

Will Costco do hearing tests for free & can you do them without a membership?

Hello fellow hearing strugglers! I am a guy with severe hearing loss in my left ear and normal hearing in my right ear. Recently I had an ancient hearing aid that has served me well break, leaving me primarily depending on just my good ear.

I bought a cheap pair of hearing aids from Amazon for $239.99 becuase of budget options. I think it helps ever so slightly, but not much! I know that in general you shouldn't use OTC hearing aids for severe hearing loss. I think I might keep them as a backup just in case, but I feel like something better would be much more helpful.

I've heard that Costco is pretty much the best option if you're on a budget and need actual hearing aids.

I was wondering, will they do tests for free & without a membership? If so, will they also discuss options with me without a membership? Costco isn't close to where I live and I really don't buy in bulk, so I'd rather not get a membership if I don't have to. I think I've also heard that they only sell them in pairs, kind of odd to me as I won't need one for the right ear, but that's ok! Also, how much do you guys think this will probably cost me?

Thanks to any and all help & advice! 😊

Can you return used hearing aids to Amazon?

I realize Amazon has a 30 day return policy. It says something about possibly being charged on opened items. It's confusing. I bought a pair of Yeasound hearing aids for ~$600 plus tax and I think I want to return them. I have used them, but for less than a week and it should fall within the 30 days. Opened, all of the items still there, just opened and lightly used. Is this very likely an easy return or?

I bought RIC800 OTC hearing aids while having severe hearing loss and I have a question...

Obviously, this was a budget option. I know that it's not recommended, but the one I'm using seems to work well enough for me to be happy with it. (Unilateral hearing loss and so I only need one)

The thing is that with this being an OTC budget option meant for mild to moderate hearing loss I'm using closed domes for the volume boost and I'm using it at... 100% volume. At this level it seems to be helpful. My question is, is it ok to use it at 100% volume for long periods of time? It doesn't sound loud and so is this safe for my bad ear? Is it more likely to break at 100% volume?

Thanks for any opinions on this. Honestly, I could maybe lower it to 90% and still feel like it's helpful. Around 75% and I barely notice it's on.
