Benedict Bridgerton is the BEST Bridgerton (A Closer Inspection)

Benedict Bridgerton is the BEST Bridgerton (A Closer Inspection)

If it's been more than a month since you've watched this great compilation of Benedict’s personality, it's time to watch it again. I really hope u/ladyjenevia does a second volume with season 4 😊

Editing Pet Peeve- piano man

I have heard more than one commentator declare confidently that Luke isn't playing the piano in his scene with Francesca. As we know, Luke is a very good pianist- he played for the Queen!

I think the problem is the way the scene is edited. They shot it exactly how they would if he couldn't play a note. I understand how it makes the moment more intimate, but it does Luke a disservice.

I hope we get more piano from him in the future. Maybe in the Christmas musical special we all crave 😊

Netflix LITTLE HOUSE and racism

I jave watched 2.5 episodes of Netflix's new Little House on the Prairie. I have many thoughts and haven't quite sorted out how I feel about it yet. However, I do appreciate Ma Ingalls' racism.

I know that sounds weird, but I appreciate that they didn't "Bridgerton" the racism out of the era completely. I question some of their choices, but I like that there is some tension between the colonizers and the natives. There is racism on both sides. There is an attempt at understanding on both sides.

I hope that moving forward, we see more conflict about the future of the west and whose vision should rule it. I'm hoping they don't whitewash the cultural conflicts away.

I'm very curious to see the dialog on the show.

Suffs and Modern Voting (repost to fix issues)

National Public Broadcasting (PBS) posted a pro-shot of Suffs yesterday. Here is the link to their YouTube video if you haven't had a chance to see it.

EDIT- fixed the link

https://youtu.be/YQxsbcOa2Gs?si=9FDbQhxUEqu0XWFs

For those outside the US, you may not realize that we're having a battle right now in our country over voting rights. There is a significant group of people who think women shouldn't vote. There have also been efforts to disenfranchise other groups by changing the district lines for our electoral colleges (just happened in Tennessee yesterday).

As I was watching the last song of the musical, I found myself wishing for one edition to it. I wish they had shown some of the more modern movements. For example, some of the characters could have stayed in their period dress, but others could have brightly dyed hair or wore a p***y (cat ears) hat.

I also wish there had been a physical passing of the picket line sign from one woman to another. Someone dressed in modern clothes could have picked one up off the ground.

I know we got a lesbian kiss that hinted at a more modern fight, but the same sex marriage ruling was almost 15 years ago. I just wish the show didn't feel so historical and pushed it into the modern fight for democracy a little bit more.

Keep marching.
