Picked up this Silverado over the weekend. What oil are you guys using in your 5.3L?
I snagged this sale over the weekend and thought it would be a great time to get my 5.3 tuned up. What oil do you all use in your 5.3s? A friend suggested I try 15w40 Rotella, but I’m seeing some mixed reviews online. She’s not the most attractive, but I got her for what I’d consider a steal! It’s a 2006 Silverado 1500 with 170k miles (the lowest mileage I could find on the marketplace during my search). The previous owner replaced the front end after an accident. She currently has a GMC Yukon front end, which I’m currently looking to switch back to a Chevy Silverado front end. Everyone seems to prefer the “cateye” 03-06 front end, but I’m actually looking for a “bubble eye” 99-02 front end for my Silverado. Thoughts on a bubble eye conversion?
