Ok, I dont ever post about bad customer service. But this was brutal.
So, I was with Shaw who got taken over by Rogers.
Of course this is not up to me, as a customer who has to pay for a service like internet you just go with it, there seems to be a mild monopoly with internet service in my area of the country. Today I had it. I got called by a person to ask about my service and would I like to upgrade my current service.
So, my internet is 300mbs, and unlimited, for myself works fine although it costs me (and sorry, I'm sure many of you can tell me a better plan) a lot, which I've been using for a long time. More speed would be better but as usual, people get used to it. So I was told I could upgrade to a 2gbs speed for a mere $5dollars a month upgrade (already paying $100 a month). Of course I would take the upgrade for the speed and cost of upgrade. And of course they mentioned that my current plan is no longer available as its been phased out (which they didn't let me know whilst I've been paying it) but I can upgrade for a mere $5 more a month. So, this already annoyed me because should they have not told me that this was available for a huge upgrade in speed at not much more cost while I was already paying for the service?
So on the phone call today, I dealt with the salesperson who for the most part was a good person when it came to my questions, but they said you're price would only go up $5 per month for the upgraded speed.
Then this happed. Obviously the salesperson was a moron, and accidentally called my phone after the conversation and said "Right. Again one more Freaking time....." It sounded like they accidentally called me when on the line and we're venting due to our call. I have the voicemail saved.
And then had the audacity to call me again, and tell me the plan they had was actually not available and it would be $10 more dollars per month, and said its not a contract its month to month and I can cancel anytime.
I was obviously not happy with this whole interaction so I asked to get this escalated or talk to a manager because I was not happy with the voicemail left and the fact that they quoted me a price and then called back to tell me thats not available.
So 5 minutes on hold I speak to a "manager" and they tell me they can do the original price that the salesman quoted PLUS a $100 one time rebate. I said ok, lets go go forward. Then they tell me that if I cancel within two years they would charge me $15 a month witch was not at all what I was originally told because I specifically said I did not want a contract.
TLDR: ROGERS customer service told me a plan that we agreed on and then rescinded the plan and then they sent me a very audible F you on voicemail, and then tried to tie me into a contract. If anyone at ROGERS reads this which they probably wont because they don't care. F you. Oh and I have the voicemail saved.
