Ayame & Pon: Your Runway. Describe your style and Ayame will design your look

Ayame has eight new looks and the same three models. Pon keeps volunteering. She'd rather dress you.

How it works:

  1. Comment your style: what you wear, colours you love, one fun detail.
  2. Ayame designs a look for you and you walk her runway.
  3. I reply to your comment with your runway moment. Pon judges.

Text only, please, no photos. Slide 6 shows an example from a made-up description.

Describe yourself in the comments and Maya will sketch you [Krea 2]

Maya has drawn her cat Fig two hundred times and wants new faces. Here's how it works:

  1. Comment with a short description of yourself: hair, glasses, build, outfit, a pet if you want it in the picture.
  2. Maya sketches you (in the style of the comic).
  3. I reply to your comment with your drawing, usually within a day.

Text only, please, no photos. The last image shows an example from a made-up description: "tall, curly red hair, glasses, denim jacket, always has his skateboard."

How to build an AI character that doesn't feel generic: write the person before the face

Most homemade AI characters feel the same because the face gets an hour and the personality gets one sentence. What fixed it for me: give the character one detail that contradicts the rest, make the AI interview you instead of asking it to "create a character", and write down how they text (message length, what they do when annoyed, three things they'd never say). The face comes last, and you always reference the original image so it doesn't drift.

What was the detail that made your companion feel real?

What the research actually says about AI companions (7 studies, summarised)

- Reduces loneliness about as well as talking to a real person (Journal of Consumer Research, 5 studies)

- Rehearsing a hard conversation with a chatbot made people more likely to have it for real (1,371-person study)

- Long-term heavy use tracked with more loneliness, not less (Aalto, 2,000 users over a year)
