Should I go from FAR to DAR after around 2000h ?

I've been using free air roll for my entire Rocket League time (~2000 hours). I peaked at GC1 a few years ago and just came back to the game. I'm currently C1 in 2s and grindind back slowly.
I'm wondering if now is a good time to finally switch to directional air roll.
A few questions:
- Is it even worth it with that many hours of free air roll muscle memory?
- How long did it take you to feel normal again after switching?
- Is the skill gap between those two so big ?
I'm fine with taking my time and grinding free play. Just want to know if it's worth it before I commit.
