I'm on my 15th+ rewatch and my heart hurts

So many amazing actors from this show have passed on, and what a loss to the world it is. I saw a scene with Lt. Daniels and Clay Davis and felt so sad. And then seeing scenes of Ziggy being Ziggy. All these incredible people are now no longer with us.

What a gift it is to be able to watch this show, over and over at that. What a gift it has been to be able to watch and appreciate these incredible actors.

Am also going to add Andre Braugher here because even if he wasn't in The Wire he was in Homicide and his passing was also an immense loss to the world.

The sisyphean struggle of being a person who likes to commit who gets cast on Love Island

Saw this meme/post floating around and thought, that feels like the struggle of a bunch of Islanders across all the years and all the countries.

But! There's a reason why so many songs are about love and yearning and heartbreak. The quest for love may be sisyphean, but it is one that humans will always do because that's part of what makes us human.

Memorable bombshells/Casa islanders thread

Hiya fellow LI fans, since it's Saturday (corrected from Sunday!) night and we're watching Aftersun, maybe we can have a chitchat about bombshells and Casa islanders. Who are your favorite and most memorable (for any reason) bombshells or Casa contestants over the years?

For me:

Amaya Papaya, early bombshell who ended up being the winner of her season. I loved her poetry and original songs 😂.

Taylor from Casa Season 5, who knew she was interested in Bergie and whose conversations with Bergie were really cute and funny. And now they're engaged which is fantastic.

Miguel walking in as a Season 6 bombshell and causing chaos 😂 and even JaNa and Serena fighting over bringing him eggs. Ends up finding future wife Leah on the show.

Bria and Chazz from Season 4, who are memorable to me because they are proof that having people's siblings in the Villa at the same time was not a good idea.

The spelling of everyone's names

The spelling of the names of Season 8 castmembers so far:

Aniya (not Anaya, not Aniyah, not Anniyah)

Kenzie

Melanie (not Melody)

Beatriz (not pronounced like Beatrice), can say Bea (pronounced like "Bay-ah," not pronounced like "Bee-ah")

Trinity

Kayda (not Katie, not Kado)

KC

Bryce

Sean (not Shaun, not Shawn)

Sincere

Zach (not Zak, not Zack)

Gabriel (pronounced the Portuguese way because Brazilians speak Portuguese. Also Portugal is in Europe but Brazil is in South America), can also say Gabe

Common responses:

  1. "Lol it's not that deep who cares." I do, that's why I'm making this post. I kept harping about making sure to spell Andreina correctly over the last year and got downvoted so many times by people who insisted it doesn't matter that they're spelling her name as "Andreena" or "Adriena." It matters how people's names are spelled. It's a basic dignity for us as humans to have our names spelled and hopefully pronounced correctly.

  2. "How are we supposed to know." The show does show literal names of cast members and how to spell them. Especially when they do the nightly who is sleeping where and the coupling recaps. You'll always see how people's names are spelled in those recaps.
