Hey everyone,

I know the current 1000X series only supports wired audio via the 3.5mm to USB-C cable (the USB-C port is strictly for charging).

For those familiar with the tech: Is it actually possible for Sony to unlock direct digital audio over a standard USB-C to USB-C cable via a future firmware update? Or is the internal charging port completely isolated from the audio processor, making it a strict hardware limitation?

I'm still considering buying a pair, but this feature is a big deciding factor for me.
