A video on youtube about one of our favorite things to bash. I am not a fan but it is an interesting watch.
Afternoon ride. Relaxed with some locals for a few minutes.
Nice day in Monida on a 40 year old bike.
Finally got the bike serviced and needed to get a little ride in.
Base elevation, 6,200 ft. Temperature, 58°F. Humidity, 28%. Length, 60 miles, 20 miles of pavement, 40 miles of gravel and rough two track desert road.
This is a 60 mile loop from town. Takes 1.5 - 2.5 hrs. depending on stops. This is a relaxing route with the biggest challenges being very long hill climbs in loose rock. One of these climbs 1000 vertical feet in 3/4 of a mile. It is impassible when wet.
The road crosses private, MT state, BLM and USFS land. Navigation skills and a good map are required to keep you recreating on public land.
Keep an eye out for livestock and wildlife. This is open range cattle country as well as home to moose, elk, deer, antelope, big horn sheep, wolves, mountain lions, grizzly bears and black bears. This ride is in the Tendoy Mountain Range of SW Montana. It circles around and uses part of the Big Sheep Creek Byway.
The bikes may have a defective handlebar clamp.
