Snowy evening in Kyoto
Usually, Kyoto hardly sees any snow at all, unless you venture out toward the mountains. But this year in February, we got a full day of snow in the entire city. I took a nine hour walk that day, shooting lots of photos and enjoying the amazing, serene atmosphere. It was quite magical.
Tsuruhashi, Osaka, just before the last trains
2026-07-11, Osaka Tsuruhashi. A small alley next to the station, lined with Izakayas, most of them closed or in the process of closing up, as it was just a few minutes before the last trains of the night.
Browser Plugin or alternative YouTube client to filter videos with sponsorships
As a YouTube user, I do not want to watch any video that "includes paid promotion". There are ways to skip the sponsored segment while watching videos, and there is at least one plugin that hides the notice that a video includes paid promotions, but there is currently no solution that filters such videos out of your home feed or search results to begin with.
While I'm not sure, the fact that YouTube can display the "Includes paid promotion" notice on top of videos, would suggest that there is probably some way to identify such videos via a browser plug-in, which should then allow to hide them.
I would really appreciate such a solution, and I don't think YouTube/Google will ever offer such a filter themselves.

Osaka Rainy Cityscape, 32:9 version [7680x2160]
Insights
I guess the theme is self-explanatory. So far, these shots have been very "opportunistic", so to speak. But I really took a liking to them, so I plan on intentionally looking for and taking a lot more of them going forward. Any feedback appreciated.
Into The Night
I started taking night-time pictures in Japan at the beginning of 2024. First, I only took pictures of empty streets, devoid of people. I liked them, but I kept being told that my pictures were lacking a subject. Unwilling to take pictures with faces in them, I tried the "walking away" aesthetic - and fell in love with it. Here is a selection of 15 of those shots. Lumix DC-S5M2 with 35, 50 and 85mm prime lenses. Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Kanazawa. Let me know what you think!
The Konbini Project
Tried to take more-or-less the same shot of all of the convenience stores - apart from Seicomart. Got all pictures in a single night. Was really hard to find matching stores. Not only did the layout and size have to be a rough match, but I needed them to be in rather isolated spots, with nothing lit up in the background. Plus, I needed a lot of space in front: I used a laser range finder to take all shots from ~20 meters away. Still, they don't line up perfectly. All taken in Kyoto, with a Canon EOS 6D, 50mm prime lens.
