Please vote in today’s election - especially for City Council

A group of progressives (I’m one of them) are trying to flip our conservative City Council today.

Each voter can pick two candidates on their ballot - please consider Nick Benson (me), Cati Gómez, Chris John, and Tunisia Irby - thank you!

31 people loaded onto ICE Air at MSP yesterday

Two sets of people in green hi-vis yesterday at MSP airport in Minneapolis.

One group, contractors for the federal government, sending brown people to indefinite detention without trial.

The others, our neighbors, in shackles, getting flown away from their families to Louisiana or Texas.

ICE hasn't stopped in Minnesota - in fact the number of detainees they're flying out has been creeping up - last week there were 70 people on ICE Air, the highest we've seen since the end of Metro Surge.

Stats: ottergoose.net/ice-flights-msp/data

Faith, labor, and community labors have been asking Delta Air Lines, who flew Liam, and dozens of other Minnesota children to ICE camps, to take steps to be a good corporate citizen - signing the Business for Democracy Pledge; lobbying for us, not ICE; and getting exonerated neighbors home.

Minnesota 50501 has begun an informational campaign at the airport, utilizing their freedom of expression booths in near the baggage claim - we'll be there again on the evenings of July 12, 16, 20 and 26.

MSP's airport authority, the MAC, has been disappointing - instead of delivering a small ultimatum to a $50 billion airline (we wanted a pause in funding for a preliminary study for a Delta lounge in exchange for a meeting with Delta), they chastised us for speaking for children with no voice.

Sec Hegseth dropped by in a doomsday plane to pick up kids, golf clubs

Airplane geeks were excited to see an E-4B Nightwatch, one of the so-called "doomsday planes," dropping by MSP today. From what I could see, it appeared Sec. Hegseth arrived and departed on the aircraft, after picking up some kids and golf clubs here in Minnesota.

He spent several minutes throwing footballs around with the kiddos while the aircraft was refueling.

34 ICE detainees loaded today at MSP

Happy Juneteenth from Minneapolis, where 34 shackled ICE detainees were loaded onto a 737, which took them to concentration camps in Louisiana and Texas.

Similar scenes played out today in Boston, Akron, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Omaha, Reno, Springfield, and KCMO.

Fuck ICE.

24 detainees loaded on ICE Air at MSP today

24 detainees were loaded onto today's ICE Air flight at MSP, which we're recording and sharing as usual, despite the DOJ's attempt at intimidating fellow Minnesotans with frivolous charges.

We're still here. We're still watching. Fuck ICE.

My Son's Realtoy / Daron Airplane Collection

My son has been collecting Daron and Realtoy airplanes for quite a while, and has amassed quite a collection. He's also writes about them on his website, toyjet.net (not a store, not an ad, not spam, just an enthusiast's effort to document and write about toys he likes) - I believe it's one of the most comprehensive efforts to document this line of toys on the internet.
